Gold
Live gold prices in multiple formats — all derived from the same London fix spot rate:
- Troy Oz (USD) — the international benchmark price.
- Gram · 24K / 18K / 14K (USD) — per-gram at each purity. Useful for jewellery pricing.
- Troy Oz · THB / INR — spot price converted to Thai Baht and Indian Rupee at the live FX rate.
- บาท Weight · 96.5% — price per Thai baht-weight unit (1 บาท = 15.244 g) at 96.5% purity, the Thai gold standard. This is the number Thai gold shops actually trade at.
Each card shows a 7-day sparkline trend and a daily % change indicator.
Gold chart
The large chart below the gold cards shows price over time. Use the period buttons to switch between 24H · 7D · 1M · 2M · 6M · 1Y · 2Y · 5Y · 10Y · 20Y · All. Hover or tap for the exact price at any point.
Currencies
USD → THB and USD → INR live FX rates. Both refresh every 30 seconds alongside the gold price.
Cryptocurrencies
Live USD prices for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). Crypto trades 24/7 — these cards are always live.
Silver & Platinum
Troy oz and per-gram prices in USD, same data cadence as gold.
Controls
Market status bar
The row of badges at the top shows whether US, European, London, Asian, Crypto, and Gold markets are currently Open, in Pre-market, or Closed. Updates every minute.
Refresh button
The ↻ button next to the status indicator refreshes all prices immediately. The countdown next to it shows how many seconds until the next automatic refresh (every 30 s).
Drag to reorder
Grab the ⠿ handle on the left of any section label and drag it to rearrange the page order. Your preferred order is saved in the browser and persists across visits.
Reading price changes
Each card shows the day's change as a percentage:
- +1.23% today — price is up from yesterday's close
- −0.87% today — price is down
- Unchanged today — no meaningful move
When a price ticks up or down during a refresh, the card briefly flashes green or red so you can see what moved at a glance.
FAQ (free)
How fresh is the data?
Prices update every 30 seconds automatically, or immediately when you click ↻. The "Updated HH:MM" text in the header confirms the last successful fetch.
Why is the gold chart empty or short on Mondays?
Gold markets are closed on weekends. The chart shows the most recent available trading data — on a Monday morning that'll be Friday's session. Once markets open for the week the 24H view fills in normally.
Are Thai baht-weight prices accurate?
They're calculated from the live international spot price using the conversion 1 บาท weight = 15.244 g at 96.5% purity. Official Thai gold shop prices (MTS Gold, Aurora, etc.) may differ slightly due to their own buy/sell spread — this is a reference rate, not a quoted buy/sell price.
What's the difference between free and Pro?
The free dashboard is a clean read-only price viewer. Spotly Pro adds a fully customisable watchlist (60+ assets), interactive charts with 10+ indicators, a portfolio tracker, price alerts, sector heatmaps, earnings calendar, news, fundamentals, and more.
Pro dashboard — getting started
Add an asset
Click + Add Asset in the top nav. Search across 90+ supported tickers — stocks, ETFs, commodities, FX pairs, crypto. The asset slots into the right section automatically.
MSCI, ASML.AS, 7203.T) into the search bar — you'll see an amber-dashed "Add as custom ticker" row at the bottom of the results. Clicking it adds the asset and pulls live quotes including its native currency.
Aliases also work — searching Google finds GOOGL, Facebook finds META, GC finds Gold.
Get back to the free dashboard
Click the ← Dashboard pill next to the Spotly Pro logo. Your /pro layout is preserved.
See real-time prices
Quotes refresh every 30 seconds. The status dot turns green on a successful poll. Click ↻ to refresh immediately.
Open a chart
Each card has a small chart icon in its top-right corner. Click it to open the chart with the 24H period. Use the period bar to switch timeframes. Click the icon again to collapse.
Charts & Indicators
Chart types
- Line — close-price line. Best for 24H or quick trend reads.
- Candle — full OHLC bars. The trader standard for longer timeframes.
- Heikin-Ashi — smoothed candles that filter noise; trend direction is much easier to read.
Technical indicators
Click 📈 Indicators ▾ next to the chart type buttons:
- Moving Averages — SMA 20 / 50 / 200, EMA 12 / 26
- Volatility — Bollinger Bands (20, 2σ), ATR (14)
- Volume — VWAP
- Support & Resistance — Classic Pivots, Fibonacci Retracement
- Trend — Ichimoku Cloud (9, 26, 52)
- Oscillators — RSI (14), Stochastic (14, 3), MACD (12, 26, 9)
RSI, MACD, and Stochastic render in sub-charts below the price chart so they don't crowd the price action.
Card Quick Stats
Pill indicators below each price surface the most trade-critical info without opening the full info panel:
- Open — today's session open price (rendered in your display currency)
- Close — previous regular-session close (yesterday's close for daily-traded assets)
- Pre / After — overnight price + % change
- B/A — Bid / Ask
- Vol — today's volume vs 10-day average (hot when ≥ 1.5×)
- Earn — days until next earnings + release timing (before open / after close / during market); alert when ≤ 7d
- Short — short interest as % of float (hot when ≥ 10%)
- Tgt — mean analyst price target with upside / downside %
- 52w — visual bar showing where price sits in the 52-week range
- ATR — Average True Range (14d) — typical daily move, useful for stop sizing
Portfolio Tracker
Open via Tools → Portfolio. Add any holding from the catalogue with a quantity and optional average cost per unit. The panel fetches live prices and shows:
- Current price and total value per holding
- P&L in amount and % (if you entered a cost basis)
- Portfolio total at the bottom
Values display in your chosen display currency (the selector in the nav). Stored locally — no account needed.
Layouts & Customization
Save a layout
Arrange your dashboard, then go to Layouts → + Save current as new layout. Saved layouts survive across sessions.
Pin a default layout
Click the ☆ next to any saved layout to make it load every time you visit /pro.
Drag & drop
Click Arrange in the nav (the ⋮⋮ icon — hover for tooltip) to enter edit mode. Drag the ⠿ handle on a card to reorder within its section, drag the section-header ⠿ to reorder whole sections, and remove any card with ×.
To move a card to a different section (e.g. drop an asset from STOCKS into COMMODITIES), use the Move to… dropdown that appears next to the drag handle in edit mode. Cross-section drag is intentionally disabled so a STOCKS card can't accidentally land in COMMODITIES from a stray drop — the dropdown is the explicit path.
Share your layout
Click Share in the nav to generate a URL and QR code. Anyone who opens it gets your exact watchlist instantly — no account needed.
Markets Menu
Sector Heatmap
All 11 S&P sectors + 4 major index ETFs, colour-coded by daily % change.
Overnight Movers
Pre-market and after-hours moves on your tracked stocks, split into Gainers and Losers.
Earnings Calendar
Upcoming earnings dates for every stock you track and large-cap S&P stocks even if you haven't added them — useful for "what big names are reporting this week" without cluttering your watchlist. Portfolio entries get an amber left-edge stripe; large-cap entries don't. Each row shows the release-timing badge (before open/after close/during market) when known. The panel anchors directly below the Markets menu button with an × close button.
Macro Calendar
Upcoming US market-moving releases: FOMC, CPI, NFP, PPI, PCE, GDP, Retail Sales. Recurring events are estimated from the standard BLS / Fed schedule — verify times against the official source before trading.
Tools Menu
Compare Assets
Overlay up to 5 assets on one chart, normalised to % change from the start. Lets you compare assets with different price scales (e.g. NVDA vs Gold) on the same axis.
Correlation Matrix
Pearson correlations between every pair of tracked assets. Practical use: a portfolio where everything correlates +0.9 isn't actually diversified.
Position Calculator
Risk-based sizing. Enter account size, % risk, entry, and stop loss → get share count. Auto-suggests a stop = entry − 2× ATR.
Info Panel (per asset)
Click the ⓘ icon on any card:
- Analyst Widget — sell→buy bar, target price, upside / downside %
- News — recent headlines with sentiment scoring
- Insider Activity — last 12 transactions + 6-month summary
- Earnings History — last 4 quarters estimate vs actual
- Institutional Holders — top 8 funds + % held
- Dividend History — recent payments + TTM total
- Fundamentals — valuation, margins, returns, technical levels
VIX, Alerts & Notes
VIX gauge
The fear-index pill in the nav refreshes with every poll. Zones: <15 calm · 15–20 normal · 20–30 elevated · >30 fear.
Price alerts
Click the 🔔 icon on any card to set an above / below target price. When the price crosses the threshold you get an in-app toast and a browser notification (browser will ask permission the first time you set an alert). Alerts persist across sessions.
Per-asset notes
Click the 📝 icon to open a private text journal for that asset. Auto-saves as you type. Notes survive layout export / import.
Display Settings
Display currency
Use the currency picker in the nav to convert every card to your preferred currency (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR, THB, AUD, CAD, CHF, SGD, HKD, CNY). FX pairs themselves are unaffected — they're already cross-rates.
Each asset's native currency is tracked separately from your display currency. An EU stock like ASML.AS trades in EUR — when display is USD, the card converts at the live EUR/USD rate (so €1,576 shows as ~$1,824 today, not "$1,576"). When display is EUR, the same card shows €1,576 natively with no conversion. The pre-prefix dollar sign always reflects whichever currency the number is actually denominated in.
Dark mode
Click the ☀ / ☾ icon in the nav. The preference syncs across the free dashboard, Pro, and this Help page — toggling on one updates the other two immediately (even in other tabs).
Keyboard Shortcuts
FAQ (Pro)
How often do prices update?
Every 30 seconds while the tab is active. Polling pauses when the tab is hidden.
Is my data private?
Yes. Layouts, notes, alerts, and portfolio data are stored only in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why is news empty for some assets?
Yahoo Finance has dedicated news for stocks and ETFs, but not for most commodities, FX pairs, or crypto. The empty state says when that's the case.
